I have a bunch of old HDD's, (some that were originally in external USB drive cases). It was becoming a real hassle to be constantly swapping these drives around as I have a limited number of USB3 ports. Now, for backing-up various projects it's very convenient to just simply drop the required drive into this permanently connected dock and get the job done.
