The Hauppauge HD PVR Pro 60 is too expensive. Minus one star. These are good recording specs... for 20 years ago. Another star bites the dust. I've yet to test recording the HDMI output from a Panasonic DMC-GH3 but if it didn't work for 'DavidT8595' then I'm not holding my breath. Sadly, this device is as good as it gets without switching to the professional (i.e. expensive Blackmagic Design) products. All up, this was a 3-Star purchase. Brought the Hauppage for stand alone recording of HDMI. Really liked the promise of the product. The pass through HDMI to go to a monitor was exactly what I was looking for. Connected it to HDMI in, and then HDMI out for monitoring. This part worked fine. What I wanted was to record the HDMI which came originally from a camera (so not copyright). I have tried and tried to make the SD Card recording work and it has failed badly. Tried two different SD cards, tried reformatting to Fat32, tried updating the firmware. Purchased the video capture card and my primary concern was that it may not perform due to HDCP compliance. Thankfully, it worked 1st time.
The relatively high price was a bit of a hurdle too, but that seems less a problem now it all works!
(PB Tech have a good deal on this item, its just it was a lot of money to achieve what we needed)

Captures well however doesn't support Facecam at the moment which was a major purchasing point. Both PB Tech and Hauppauge have on their website that it is supported.
